InBuild was selected by Guildford Borough Council to install external wall insulation to 37 homes at Guildford Park.
The council pre-surveyed the properties and found 4 that required some remedial work prior to the installation of external wall insulation. In the meantime InBuild began insulating the other 33 houses as well as removing the existing canopies, ready for replacement with new porches.
The properties are semi-detached, solid wall houses that are cold and expensive to heat. Guildford Council was keen to improve the comfort of these homes and make them more energy efficient so they chose the Alumasc external wall insulation system to upgrade them. Insulation boards will be mechanically fixed to the exterior walls, followed by mesh and render and a machine-sprayed, pebbledash finish.
InBuild’s site manager insists on consistently high standards and uses a Quality Assurance sign off form for each property at each stage of the process. Alumasc visit site regularly to inspect the work in progress and the council’s building control department also keeps an eye on the site so that tenants can be assured of the highest standards of workmanship.
Work began in July and the project is due for completion in November 2015.
